Ship brokerage

Sale and purchase of river and river-sea vessels

We broker the sale and purchase of dry-cargo barges, pusher tugs, river-sea vessels and small coasters, acting for one side from the first circulation to delivery.

What we broker

  • Dry-cargo barges and lighters for the Danube, from Europa II size upwards
  • Pusher tugs and towboats
  • River-sea dry-cargo vessels, typically 1,500 to 6,000 dwt
  • Small coasters and general-cargo ships trading the Black Sea and the Mediterranean
  • Tank barges and small tankers, case by case

For sellers

We prepare the vessel's particulars, agree the asking level with you and circulate to a targeted list rather than the whole market. Enquiries are filtered, inspections arranged and the memorandum of agreement negotiated on your instructions. Confidential sale, with the vessel's name disclosed only to qualified buyers, is standard practice.

For buyers

Specify the intended trade and the vessel requirement. We identify candidates, including vessels not openly on the market, check class status and documents, arrange inspection and trials, and negotiate price, delivery place and conditions.

How the deal is documented

Sales are concluded on a standard memorandum of agreement, most often the Norwegian Saleform, adapted to the flag, class and delivery place. Deposit, inspection, delivery notices, closing and the transfer of documents follow the form. We coordinate with the parties' lawyers, banks and class society so that closing happens on the agreed date.

Valuation

Valuation before the vessel is circulated

The asking price is set from class status, survey dates, engine hours and the current freight market. We provide a written valuation range with comparable sales before circulation.
