Chartering and transport on river and sea

We fix tonnage and arrange carriage for bulk, breakbulk and project cargo along the Danube, across the Black Sea and into the Mediterranean: river-sea vessels, barge convoys and coasters.

What we arrange

  • Voyage charters for grain, oilseeds, meals, fertilisers, coal, ores and steel
  • Time charters and trip charters of river-sea tonnage
  • Barge and convoy transport on the Danube, including transshipment at the sea ports
  • Combined river-sea voyages: loading on the Danube, discharge in the Black Sea or the Mediterranean
  • Project and breakbulk cargo that needs survey, lashing and route planning

For cargo owners and traders

Send the cargo, the quantity, the ports and the laycan. We return workable tonnage with freight indications, explain what the river allows in the given season, and negotiate the charter party on your behalf. Execution is followed until discharge and final freight settlement.

For owners and operators

We find employment for river-sea vessels, coasters and barge convoys, check charterers, and negotiate terms that protect the owner: laytime, demurrage, agency and the handling of river-specific risks.

Documentation

Fixtures are made on the standard forms the market recognises: GENCON, SYNACOMEX for grain, BIMCO time-charter forms for period business. Recap, charter party, bills of lading and statements of facts are checked before signature.

Intake is planned on the water-level forecast

A drop in the water level on the lower Danube changes barge intake by hundreds of tonnes within a week. Intake, convoy composition and the transshipment point are planned on the forecast; the allocation of river risk is fixed in the charter party.

Cargo enquiry or open tonnage

Send the cargo details or the vessel's open position. Reply with indications and the terms that determine the fixture.
